Data analyst for media products

Описание:
Tagesspiegel Background is Tagesspiegel's B2B specialist information product: professional briefings and policy monitoring for ministries, associations, law firms and companies, on an annual subscription. We are looking for someone for our product team who brings business and product data together and turns them into reliable foundations for decisions. The role is deliberately broad: you connect reporting, product analytics and data quality, develop our reporting, investigate usage and business performance, and help shape how we measure and assess usage and translate it into product decisions.
Задачи:
You are responsible for data quality in Salesforce, our central source for customer, contract and revenue data: you find inconsistencies, clean, normalize and enrich data, and investigate the causes. Where fields, validations or processes need to be adjusted for this, you initiate this with the Salesforce team, which is responsible for the platform. You are responsible for our reporting in Power BI based on Salesforce and the data warehouse — revenue, customer development, retention, forecasts — develop it further and ensure consistent, documented metric definitions, for example around churn in the licensing business, which you coordinate with Sales and the publishing management.
Together with Product Development, Marketing and Growth, you define which events we measure, and bring together data from web tracking, email distribution, landing pages and CRM across the various source systems to create a consistent account view. You identify relevant changes and anomalies in our data, formulate hypotheses and investigate them independently. You do not stop at the first plausible explanation, but also test alternative causes and the reliability of the data basis. You further develop analyses of usage of our website and product — for example, activation, engagement, depth of usage and likelihood of renewal. You derive concrete next investigations or recommendations for action from them. Before launch, you determine how we will measure the success of new features and products, and evaluate after rollout what worked, for whom and under what conditions.
You prepare your findings for the editorial team, Sales and management so that they can serve as a basis for decisions — methodologically sound, tailored to the audience, and including the limitations of the respective data basis.
Требования:
Practical experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM system, not only as a data source but also in data maintenance and cleansing, for example with DemandTools, Data Loader or Xappex. Around three to five years of experience in Product Analytics or Business Intelligence — experience in both is welcome, but not a requirement. A subscription, media or B2B SaaS environment is an advantage. Very strong SQL skills on a cloud warehouse (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks) and experience with a BI tool; we use Power BI. Solid experience with web and product analytics, including GA4 at raw data level. Experience designing your own tracking concepts is an advantage. You confidently define, explain and advocate for metrics, assess what a number does and does not tell us, and derive next steps from it. You work in a hypothesis-driven and persistent way.
When a signal is interesting, you pursue it until you can clearly distinguish causes, uncertainties and consequences as far as possible. You work reproducibly and in a user-friendly way so that others can understand and continue your analyses. You use AI tools as a matter of course, but carefully check their results before passing them on. You have professional-level German language skills, both spoken and written.
Будет плюсом: Experience with a CRM system as a data source, ideally Salesforce; Knowledge of Python or R; Experience with customer interviews or user research; Understanding of subscription and licensing models
