About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team and drive the development of cutting‑edge data products. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and storage solutions that support our analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and solution architects to ensure efficient data flow, quality, and accessibility. As a leader, you will foster a high-performance team environment, promote best practices in data engineering, and oversee the automation of data platform provisioning and deployment processes. Your technical expertise and leadership will be pivotal in enabling Publicis Sapient to leverage data as a strategic asset for our clients’ success.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required, or equivalent professional experience. Essential technical skills include hands-on experience with ETL/ELT design and implementation, proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java, and a solid understanding of SQL, relational, and non-relational databases. Familiarity with big data ecosystems like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and Flink is crucial, along with experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Knowledge of modern data engineering tools like Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Synapse is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, and fluency in German are also required. Additional assets include familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Data Factory) and experience in the Energy, Commodities, or Financial Services sectors.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and testing robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and scalable storage solutions to support diverse data needs.
• Building and maintaining reliable, high-performance data pipelines capable of processing both structured and unstructured data.
• Leveraging big data technologies and distributed systems to handle large datasets efficiently.
• Collaborating with data modelers, data scientists, and solution architects to optimize data flows and storage strategies.
• Partnering with data analysts and scientists to deliver clean, well-structured, and accessible data for analysis and decision-making.
• Coordinating with data source owners and integration teams to ensure seamless data ingestion from multiple systems.
• Automating provisioning, deployment, and environment management for data platforms to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Creating and maintaining APIs and data services to facilitate data access for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring all solutions adhere to scalability, performance, data quality, and governance standards.
