Responsibilities Define the technical direction for Supply Data Science and lead the roadmap for models, experiments, and decision systems that help Prolific scale participant supply responsibly.
Work across participant acquisition, onboarding, liquidity, matching, quality, engagement, and retention to meet rapidly growing demand without degrading participant experience or data integrity.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and company leadership to translate complex marketplace problems into clear scientific questions, measurable hypotheses, and scalable solutions.
Lead applied science work across forecasting, experimentation, causal inference, marketplace measurement, matching, ranking, allocation, optimization, and quality modeling. Qualifications Strong technical depth in experimentation, causal inference, statistical modeling, forecasting, marketplace science, or product analytics.
Experience with marketplace or platform problems, especially in supply‑demand dynamics, liquidity, matching, user behavior, trust, or quality. Experience leading algorithmic work such as matching, ranking, optimization, allocation, quality modeling, or decision systems.
Comfortable setting technical direction, influencing product strategy, partnering with engineering, and communicating complex trade‑offs to senior stakeholders. Ability to grow into a formal people manager or operate as a people manager, with a track record of leading high‑impact applied science work.
