About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Data Scientist (d/f/m) to join our central Data Science team based in Berlin! Our team’s mission is to deliver data-driven insights and machine learning (ML) solutions at scale that enhance user experiences and drive value across our platforms, with a particular focus on search, ranking, recommenders and personalization. We offer a flexible working environment with in-person presence expected once/twice a week, or as required for key product appointments.
Requirements
As a Data Scientist (d/f/m), you will:
- Drive impactful projects that apply data science and advanced ML models to complex business problems, especially around search, ranking, recommendation, and personalization.
- Explore and integrate Generative AI solutions into product features, including LLM-based search enhancements, conversational interfaces, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and AI-generated content - evaluating their impact on user experience and platform value.
- Own end-to-end data science initiatives: from ideation and prototyping, to production deployment, performance monitoring, and refining for scalability and efficiency.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover actionable insights that inform business strategies and drive user-centric solutions.
- Build and validate proof-of-concepts for innovative features, clearly presenting results and value to diverse stakeholders.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, communicating insights, methodologies, and outcomes effectively.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and other data scientists to align on search and platform goals and drive cross-functional product development.
- Work closely with data scientists, promoting best practices and continuous team growth.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, integrating new tools, frameworks, or techniques to push the team’s capabilities forward.
