To support our School of Arts, Information & Media, we are looking for an external lecturer on a fee basis f/m/d for our courses in the study program of Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (ADSAI) at our Heidelberg Campus.

Services

• Teach Statistics & Machine Learning, Python Programming, and Data Management with a strong focus on practical implementation and current technologies

• Apply statistical and ML libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow and PyTorch for data analysis, modelling and evaluation

• Teach Python software development, including OOP, APIs, testing, data processing, automation, and development best practices

• Introduce LLM and agentic AI development using technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, FastAPI, vector databases and LLM APIs

• Work with modern data technologies including SQL, PostgreSQL, dbt, Neo4j, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and visualization tools such as Tableau

• Design and deliver hands‑on labs, coding exercises, applied projects and assessments, while supporting students and coordinating content with module and program leads

Requirements

• University degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Statistics or a related field

• Strong expertise in at least one of the listed modules

• Relevant academic and/or industry experience

• Very good English and strong teaching / communication skills

• Previous university teaching experience is an advantage

• Eligibility: SRH must not be the sole professional engagement; another main occupation and/or genuine other clients are required
