Head of AI Strategy & Development

Job Overview

NeoBIM GmbH is a cutting‑edge startup transforming the construction industry with AI‑powered Building Information Modeling (BIM). We are looking for a Head of AI Strategy & Development – part AI wizard, part strategic visionary – to define and drive the AI strategy of a future market leader in the BIM space.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI vision: define and execute NeoBIM’s AI strategy, combining strategic foresight with hands‑on implementation.

• Own the full AI stack: oversee end‑to‑end development of advanced AI systems, including generative 3D models, large language models (LLMs), and multimodal neural networks, managing the full lifecycle from design to deployment and ongoing optimisation.

• Stay hands‑on with code: actively contribute to core development tasks – prototyping, model training, debugging and performance tuning – and lead by example as a technical authority.

• Drive product‑centered innovation: translate cutting‑edge AI research into practical, value‑creating features within NeoBIM’s product suite to enable automation, design optimisation and data‑driven insights across construction workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in AI strategy and execution in a high‑growth or tech‑driven environment.

• Hands‑on programming excellence: expert‑level proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) with strong coding habits.

• LLM & generative AI expertise: deep experience with training, fine‑tuning and deploying large language models (GPT, BERT, LLaMA, Mixtral) and generative AI systems (diffusion models, VAEs, GANs).

• Multimodal & 3D AI systems: track record of building and optimising multimodal or 3D‑capable models (Vision Transformers, NeRFs, generative 3D architectures).

• Full AI system lifecycle ownership: experience leading end‑to‑end AI development – model training, deployment, performance monitoring and iteration at scale.

• MLOps & scalable infrastructure: deep understanding of MLOps tooling and infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, CI/CD pipelines, data versioning) and comfort building enterprise‑grade cloud/hybrid/on‑prem systems.

• Strong analytical & mathematical foundation: solid grounding in statistics, optimisation and deep learning theory relevant to real‑world applications.
