Head of Machine Learning

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead in Applied AI to help shape how cutting-edge generative AI is deployed in the real world.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be sitting on the side-lines. You’ll be hands‑on with the toughest technical challenges, leading a small team of exceptional engineers while working directly with enterprise customers on high‑impact AI projects across sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, defence, and the public sector.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading the technical delivery of complex AI projects for enterprise customers.

• Acting as the go‑to technical partner for stakeholders, from engineers to executives.

• Staying deeply hands‑on: coding, reviewing, and de‑risking the most challenging parts of each project.

• Designing and implementing advanced GenAI systems, including:

• Fine‑tuned LLMs

• Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)

• Agentic workflows

• Custom AI applications

• Mentoring Applied AI Engineers and helping grow a strong technical culture.

• Collaborating with research, product, and engineering teams to bring customer feedback into future AI capabilities.

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

• 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, with recent experience leading technical teams.

• A strong track record of delivering AI solutions from prototype to production.

• Deep expertise in LLMs, advanced RAG, agentic systems, and scalable NLP applications.

• Excellent Python skills and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or similar.

• A solid software engineering background (APIs, backend systems, architecture, deployment).

• The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Open‑source contributions in the AI/LLM ecosystem.

• Experience in customer‑facing technical roles.

• Exposure to MLOps and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
