AI/ML Engineer (Oncology) Location: Italy/EU - Fully Remote Permanent We are partnering with an early phase oncology biopharma company in Italy who are building out their data science capability.
They are seeking an AI ML Engineer to support biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and predictive modelling across translational and early clinical programs. The role will focus on developing machine learning models using multi‑omics and clinical datasets to support treatment response and disease progression analysis.
Application of AU and ML approaches to patient treatment responses and disease progression analysis. Translate translational biology and clinical research questions into robust computational and predictive models. Analyse and integrate heterogeneous datasets across preclinical translational and early clinical programs.
Validate model performance and ensure scientific and statistical robustness of outputs. Document methodologies and communicate results clearly to non‑computational stakeholders. Requirements Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and machine learning development.
Hands‑on experience with machine learning frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow and Scikit Learn. Proven experience in survival analysis including Cox proportional hazards models and time‑to‑event modelling. Experience working with multi‑omics, genomics or oncology‑focused clinical datasets.
Working knowledge of SQL and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP. Ability to design, build and maintain reproducible and scalable data pipelines. Why work with us!
