Remote Data Analyst - Mining Insights

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Remote Data Analyst to join their virtual operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing vast datasets related to mining operations, exploration activities, and market trends to provide actionable insights. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by translating complex data into clear, concise reports and visualizations, contributing to efficiency and profitability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize large datasets from various mining operations and exploration projects using specialized tools and databases.

• Perform statistical analysis and modeling to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in mining production, costs, and exploration success rates.

• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present key findings to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and management teams to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support.

• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities, incorporating relevant data into analyses to inform strategic planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with at least 3 years focused on the mining industry or related natural resources sector.

• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and advanced skills in Excel.

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting .
