Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and statistical algorithms for predictive analytics, pattern recognition, and insight generation from large-scale pharmaceutical datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, chemists, clinicians, and bioinformaticians, to define research questions and identify data-driven solutions.
• Explore and analyze diverse data sources, such as genomics, proteomics, clinical trial data, electronic health records (EHRs), and chemical compound libraries.
• Develop and deploy robust data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, and feature engineering.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear visualizations and presentations.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of data science initiatives and identify new opportunities for leveraging data to advance drug discovery and development.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the growth of the data science practice within the organization.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and their applications in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ensure the ethical and compliant use of data, adhering to all relevant privacy regulations and internal governance policies.
• Develop and maintain reproducible code and documentation for all analytical models and processes.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in data science, with a significant portion focused on the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industries.
• Proven expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models (e.g., deep learning, supervised/unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy).
• Strong experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
• Excellent understanding of statistical principles and experimental design.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results in a remote work environment.
