Senior AI Engineer (Remote, USA only)

Grafana Labs builds observability tools that help users understand, respond to, and improve their systems. The AI teams enable users to make sense of complex observability data through AI‑driven features.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build and deliver AI solutions: Take ownership of developing high‑performance AI features to help users detect, triage, and resolve incidents using observability data and tools.

• Rapid experimentation and iteration: Prototype, test, and validate with real users, shipping and evolving LLM‑ or agent‑powered workflows for incident lifecycle management and automated analysis tasks.

• Collaborate cross‑functionally: Work with data analysts, product managers, and designers to shape AI‑driven product features, integrate agentic components with internal tools, alerting systems, runbooks, and developer workflows.

• Utilize AI tools effectively: Use AI and automation tools to enhance product functionality and your own development workflows.

• Effective communication: Communicate effectively across teams in a highly dynamic environment.

• Ownership and impact: Own AI solutions fully, ensuring they are innovative, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong engineering skills: Experience building production software systems (backend and/or full stack).

• AI experience with a practical mindset: Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks, focused on real‑world solutions.

• Quick iteration and experimentation: Comfortable releasing prototypes and iterating with feedback.

• Proven initiative: Own projects, push boundaries, and define scope under ambiguity.

• Collaborative attitude: Communicate effectively with peers, product managers, and designers; welcome feedback.

Requirements

• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and building applications powered by GenAI.

• Track record of delivering software that reached production and is actively used.

• Exposure to cloud‑native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with agent frameworks or multi‑agent workflows.

• Experience with infrastructure/devops tooling (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, etc.).

• Familiarity with model fine‑tuning techniques.

• Experience building observability tooling.

Compensation & Rewards

In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is USD 127,651 – USD 203,867. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed in the employee handbook.

All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Compensation ranges are country specific; international applicants will be offered market‑appropriate packages.
