Senior Data & Analytics Engineer – Artificial Intelligence Senior Data & Analytics Engineer – Artificial Intelligence, Architecture, Platforms & Intelligence team, Banking Technology, Basel, Switzerland. Collaborate with financial and business teams to understand the organization’s financial structure and requirements.

Three‑year fixed‑term contract with global application eligibility and relocation support for the successful candidate and dependents. Purpose of the job Play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s data, analytics, and applied artificial intelligence capabilities.

Analyse business requirements, translate them into effective solutions, and contribute to the design and implementation of cutting‑edge AI‑driven applications and services.

Principal Accountabilities Collect and analyze business requirements, design, develop new applications or add new features to existing applications, and provide production support. Design and implement testing and evaluation methodologies for AI applications, with a focus on large language model (LLM) use cases.

Conduct data exploration and pre-processing to prepare large unstructured datasets for analysis, modelling, and deployment in AI applications. Stay updated with the latest AI trends, technologies, and best practices, exploring new tools and techniques to improve project outcomes.

Monitor, maintain, and update models to ensure ongoing alignment with business needs. Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders to support operational activities. Assist junior staff by providing task‑specific advice and support. Participate in external events under the direction of senior staff to represent the BIS.

Develop personal capabilities through assessment, development planning, formal and informal training, and coaching. Gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential.

Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and specialist media. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline) or hands‑on experience within this field.

Proven track record of designing, building, and optimizing cutting‑edge AI solutions. Hands‑on experience with data pipelines, analytical models, and data engineering tools and solutions, especially for preparing data for AI use cases. Programming experience, particularly Python.
