You will work on the service that powers campaign creation decisions for thousands of merchants across multiple markets, that is a critical system that directly influences how marketing campaigns are built and executed. The current solution relies on Databricks for data processing, Delta Lake, and Postgres, with Airflow as an orchestrator.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING) Design and implement the systems that power campaign decisions for thousands of merchants. As well as, ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering peers.

Lead data engineering competency development in the Marketing platform Share your knowledge with your colleagues and help them grow their technical skills.

Evaluate and implement leading-edge technologies and optimise platform performance to ensure our platform remains ahead of the curve Must have: Experience: 5–7 years of professional experience in data engineering.

Distributed Systems: Deep knowledge of distributed data processing (Databricks/Spark preferred), performance tuning, and building observability and health checks for data pipelines. Storage Performance: Practical experience optimizing and tuning databases or storage engines. Programming: Strong coding skills in any general-purpose language (e.g.

Python / C / C++ / Java / Scala / GoLang / Rust ) and SQL skills focused on data transformation performance. Data Architecture: Proven track record of designing, building, maintaining and evolving data models and data processing systems. Nice-to-have: Cloud: Experience with cloud delivery models and Kubernetes (K8s).

Matching Data Stack: Hands-on experience with tools that we use like dbt, Databricks, Postgres, Airflow, Dash0. API Design: Experience or knowledge in designing and developing APIs. Streaming & Messaging: Experience working with real-time streaming pipelines or messaging queue (micro-services).
