Freelance Senior Data Scientist (x2)

Start: ASAP / Mid-January

Duration: 3 months initially (extendable to 4–5)

Location: Remote (preference for EU-based freelancers)

A well-funded, tech-led European scale-up is looking for two Freelance Senior Data Scientists to support a critical phase of growth.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where data science directly influences revenue, conversion, and AI-driven product decisions.

🔍 The Role

You’ll take end-to-end ownership of data science and machine learning initiatives across business steering and AI-powered products. Depending on experience, you may focus more heavily on one of the following areas:

Business Steering & Forecasting

• Maintain and extend revenue, sales, and forecasting models

• Own the Data Science behind business steering

• Unite isolated ML models into a single decision layer powering: Budget allocation, Conversion rate optimisation

• Partner with senior stakeholders on strategic planning and decision-making

AI & Product Data Science

• Work on internal, AI-powered products used in customer-facing operations

• Build and deploy applied ML and LLM-based systems

• Support product upgrades and greenfield initiatives

Across both tracks, reliability, documentation, and independent delivery are key.

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain production ML models

• Run deep funnel and conversion analyses using statistical methods

• Implement monitoring, calibration, and drift/anomaly detection

• Write clear documentation to support continuity and knowledge transfer

• Work autonomously in a lean, fast-moving environment

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Scientist in production environments

• Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) and solid SQL

• Strong grounding in statistics, forecasting, and classical ML

• Experience with machine learning in production

• Comfortable owning work end to end and communicating with non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with LLMs, RAG, or agent-based systems

• Background in B2C, marketplace, or digital product environments
