As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Language Capabilities (f/m/d)*, you will build, scale, and improve Parloa’s platform to evaluate and fine-tune machine learning models required to extend Parloa to new languages. You will take ownership of critical backend services and machine learning systems in speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and NLP across multiple languages.

As a part of the Language Capabilities team, you will ensure our production systems are robust, scalable, and continuously improving. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies to maintain Parloa's competitive edge in transforming the customer service industry with AI.

YOUR MISSION:

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Language Capabilities (f/m/d)*, you will build, scale, and improve Parloa’s platform to evaluate and fine-tune machine learning models required to extend Parloa to new languages. You will take ownership of critical backend services and machine learning systems in speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and NLP across multiple languages.

As a part of the Language Capabilities team, you will ensure our production systems are robust, scalable, and continuously improving. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies to maintain Parloa's competitive edge in transforming the customer service industry with AI.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Execute machine learning projects end-to-end, including model fine-tuning, productionization, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous optimization.
• Own and maintain critical backend services and infrastructure for speech processing, service orchestration, production monitoring, and observability solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
• Build and improve our model finetuning platform and data processing pipelines from dataset preparation and provider integration to model deployment, endpoint management, audio processing, transcription, evaluation, and synthetic data generation.
• Work closely with your Engineering Manager, team members, and data platform engineers to shape technical architecture decisions for international scalability while ensuring security, scalability, availability, best practices, and engineering, as well as ML excellence.

WHAT YOU BRING

• TO THE TABLE:
• 7+ years of experience as a machine learning engineer
• Strong engineering background with end-to-end ownership experience of production machine learning systems and operations
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern ML frameworks and libraries
• Experience working with text data; experience working with audio data and STT/TTS systems is a strong plus
• Broad cloud-native expertise including containerization, orchestration, IaC, deployment tools, cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks), and observability systems
• Experience with MLOps practices, including experiment tracking, model versioning, and automated deployment
• Strong understanding of backend service architecture, API design, and microservices patterns, with hands-on experience in building real-time systems and managing high-throughput production workloads
