The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a high level of scientific qualification as well as international recognition. Applicants should have an internationally recognized track record in the development of methods for the processing and analysis of radiological imaging data using AI techniques.

The scientific work should encompass modern AI methods for the automated analysis of MRI, CT, or DSA images for the study of various diseases and for precision medicine (including radiomics approaches), as well as for the support of image-guided interventions.

Full Professor in Artificial Intelligence in Radiological Imaging (Innsbruck) The Rectorate of the Medical University of Innsbruck invites applications for the immediate appointment of a University Professor (f/m/d) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Radiological Imaging pursuant to § 98 of the Universities Act (UG).

Job type: Faculty Job location: Innsbruck (Austria) Deadline: 2026-06-17 The professorship will be based at the University Department of Radiology. Upon positive evaluation, a subsequent appointment to a permanent position is possible. The position is full-time (100%). The position involves representing the discipline in research and teaching.

In both areas the collaboration with other organizational units and close cooperation within the Faculty of AI and Scientific Computing in Medicine (AISCM) at the Medical University of Innsbruck is expressly encouraged.

Appointment requirements: Completed doctoral degree (PhD or MD/PhD) in a technical, natural science, or human medical field, or an equivalent qualification Experience and expertise in state‑of‑the‑art AI and radiological image processing A strong record of high‑ranking, relevant publications University‑level teaching experience Willingness to engage in teaching and the further development of the various degree programs at the Medical University of Innsbruck Several years of experience in interdisciplinary collaboration between the fields of technology/natural sciences and medicine Leadership and management experience, in particular leading a research group Successful, continuous acquisition of third‑party funding The Medical University of Innsbruck strives to increase the proportion of women among its academic staff, particularly in leadership positions, and therefore strongly encourages qualified women to apply.
