Offer Description Area of research: Scientific / postdoctoral posts GFZ is Germany's national centre for solid Earth research. We advance the understanding of dynamic processes to address global challenges, from mitigating the impacts of natural hazards to responsibly managing georesources.

In Department 5 "Geoinformation", we are looking for a post‑doctoral researcher (Reference Number 11340).

Artificial intelligence (AI) methods, particularly generative AI, have the potential to significantly advance Earth System Sciences (ESS). "GenAI4Earth" will design, deploy, and operate trustworthy, reusable GenAI services within the EOSC ecosystem, built on FAIR data, models, and workflows.

The goal of this position is to develop data‑driven approaches to AI‑supported analysis for applications in ESS as part of the EU project "GenAI4Earth". The salary group is determined on the basis of the Collective Wage Agreement and the respective personal qualifications.
