Professorship Computer Science with focus on Data Science and Cloud Computing on Campus (m/f/d)

Position For the winter term of 2026/27, we are seeking a professor (m/f/d) for the degree program Computer Science at IU International University, limited to 2 years at our campus in Berlin, part‑time, starting on October 1st, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Represent the field of Computer Science in teaching and research on‑site at our IU campus and become part of an extensive network in the field of higher education.

• Develop and lead face‑to‑face lectures on campus and be responsible for the individual supervision of our students during exams and while they prepare their thesis.

• Teach practice‑oriented fundamental knowledge in Computer Science.

• Contribute to the creative development of teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept and collaborate closely with colleagues to further develop these formats.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a university degree in Computer Science or a related field with outstanding academic performance and hold a relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D.).

• Have at least five years of practical work experience, including three years outside university, and may have already gained initial experience in academic teaching.

• Demonstrate expertise in the relevant subject areas through publications or projects.

• Work team‑oriented and reliably, and be committed to in‑person teaching while also being proficient in conducting virtual lectures.

• Reside permanently in Germany.

• Have English language skills at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

• CV, including an overview of your teaching experience.

• University certificates.

• Doctoral degree certificate (for international degrees, include proof of equivalence in Germany, e.g., an Anabin extract or a KMK assessment).

• Short motivation letter.

• List of publications.

• Proof of existing legal maintenance obligations (e.g., child support) and, if applicable, proof of the care level (“Pflegegrad”) of a dependent person.

• Proof of severe disability or equal status and the respective degree of disability, if applicable.
