Senior Applied AI Engineer (m/f/d) In Germany – Berlin | Bonn | Cologne | Frankfurt/Main | Hamburg | Munich Simon‑Kucher is building up a central Data & AI function to enable employees with AI solutions and build central AI use cases that ensure that consultants work smarter and better.

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer you will design, build, and operate production‑grade internal AI applications that embed Simon‑Kucher methods into reusable capabilities, deliver secure and measurable outcomes (quality, adoption, latency/cost), and work in close partnership with AI Product Managers and IT Ops.

You will establish foundational engineering patterns (testing, evaluation, observability, deployment) for the central Data & AI function and serve as a core implementation partner to the AI Product Managers, turning product roadmaps into robust solutions that can be adopted globally.

How you will create an impact You will design and implement LangGraph/LangChain multi‑step workflows (RAG, tool calling, multi‑step orchestration, structured outputs). You will integrate with internal data via APIs/connectors and automate end‑to‑end flows using Power Automate across Microsoft 365.

You will build evaluation datasets, define quality metrics, run regression tests, and implement observability/tracing (LangSmith and/or Azure AI Foundry tooling). You will implement guardrails for prompt injection/data exfiltration, handle PII redaction, and align with retention/audit requirements with IT and security stakeholders.

You will build reusable libraries (prompt/versioning patterns, artifact generators, question banks, retrieval components) so each use case accelerates the next. Support central functions (HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Knowledge Management) in deploying Power Automate workflows with AI capabilities.

About you You have 4–6+ years of relevant engineering experience (software engineering, ML engineering, or applied AI engineering). You have experience in leading technical projects and take ownership of technical solutions. You are strong in Python, including API development and integration patterns.

You have deep hands‑on experience delivering LLM‑based solutions (RAG, tool calling, agentic workflows) with LangChain and/or LangGraph or similar AI orchestration frameworks. You are comfortable with production practices, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, and operational support.

You have a university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. You communicate clearly in English (C1+) and can align technical decisions with business constraints. You have knowledge of Power Automate or similar workflow automation platforms.

You have a consulting background or understanding of professional services delivery models. You have experience with Azure ecosystem (AI Foundry, Container Apps, Functions). You have familiarity with SK's industry (pricing, revenue management, market research) or willingness to learn domain expertise. #J-18808-Ljbffr
