About the Role As a Senior Data Engineer at Planet, you will build enterprise ETL pipelines and self‑service data tooling with modern cloud technologies.

Impact You’ll Own Develop and maintain accurate data pipelines Generate self‑service tooling, visualizations, and insights to support decision making around CxS products Define and expand the CxS data roadmap in partnership with stakeholders, managers, and peers Mentor peers, provide technical design feedback, and review code across the broader organization Qualifications 6+ years of relevant experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Experience designing end‑to‑end data architecture from ingestion to insight Expertise in Python and SQL for ETL pipeline development Familiarity with the modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Looker, Omni, Sigma, or similar) Experience with CI/CD, GitLab CI, Docker, and peer‑reviewed code workflow Experience with cloud services, preferably GCP or AWS Experience with geospatial or event‑based data architectures Strong self‑starter and problem‑solving skills in a dynamic environment Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration What Makes You Stand Out Messaging services experience (Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, etc.) and real‑time streaming Monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana Knowledge of earth observation or satellite operation concepts Application Deadline October 8, 2026 by 11:59p / 23:59 CET (Central European Time) Benefits Paid time off including vacation, holidays, and company‑wide days off Employee Wellness Program Home Office Reimbursement Monthly Phone and Internet Reimbursement Tuition Reimbursement and LinkedIn Learning access Equity Volunteering opportunities Fair Chance Ordinance compliance Equal Opportunity Employer Planet is an equal opportunity employer.
