Role overview
A digital bank is hiring a Senior Product Data Scientist to embed within cross-functional product squads, driving experimentation and analytics that shape product strategy and customer engagement. The role sits within a central data discipline but pairs closely with engineers, designers, marketers, and product managers, blending hands-on quantitative work with strategic guidance across areas such as growth, payments, financial crime, wealth, and core banking.
Responsibilities
- Apply quantitative analysis, data mining, and visualization to surface insights about how users interact with products and how those insights inform strategy
- Guide product teams on defining meaningful metrics and designing, running, and interpreting A/B experiments
- Partner with finance to develop a unified company-wide view of customer lifetime value and how features affect user profitability
- Liaise with engineers to ensure the right data is captured to support relevant business insights
- Use self-serve BI tooling for routine questions, freeing the role to focus on higher-impact analyses
Requirements
- Solid grounding in SQL and preferably Python
- Demonstrated experience running large-scale A/B experiments
- Commercially minded, able to translate numbers into business perspective
- Self-starter who proactively identifies issues and opportunities without prompting
- Comfortable being hands-on as well as stepping back to think strategically
- Team player who can be relied on by colleagues and is impact driven
