About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking leader in the energy sector , is seeking a talented Senior Data Analyst to join their analytics team remotely. In this role, you will leverage vast datasets to uncover insights into energy consumption patterns , demand forecasting, and operational efficiency across various markets. You will be instrumental in developing advanced analytical models that drive strategic decision-making and optimize energy distribution and resource management. This fully remote position offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge data tools and collaborate with a global team from the comfort of your own home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large, complex datasets related to energy generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption.
- Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms for demand forecasting and anomaly detection.
- Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction based on data analysis.
- Collaborate with data engineers and business units to ensure data quality and accessibility.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of best practices in data analytics.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in the energy industry .
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and big data platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and time series analysis .
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for explaining complex findings to non-technical audiences.
