The hardware, platform, and customer base are already in place, and the company now needs a world‑class leader to build the models and AI systems that unlock their full potential. /p pReporting directly to the executive team, the VP of Machine Learning will own the company's end‑to‑end AI strategy, from edge‑optimised model architectures and developer tooling to frontier multi‑modal systems for edge and on‑premises deployment. /p h3What you will be doing /h3 ul liDefine and own the company‑wide AI strategy, aligned with hardware roadmaps, product vision, and go‑to‑market objectives /li liRepresent the company as an AI thought leader with customers, partners, and at industry conferences /li liWork closely with the CEO, CTO, and other C‑suite stakeholders on long‑term technology direction /li liLead, mentor, and grow a world‑class ML team across research, model development, tooling, and deployment /li liDrive hiring strategy and build career frameworks for the ML organisation /li liOversee model compression, quantisation, pruning, and co‑design initiatives for best‑in‑class performance and efficiency /li liGuide the design of multi‑user serving frameworks for streaming vision‑language models /li liOversee developer platform integrations, including Hugging Face and PyTorch ecosystems /li liPartner with Sales and Solutions Engineering on strategic customer engagements and AI‑driven revenue opportunities /li /ul h3What they're looking for /h3 ul liPhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a closely related field from a leading research institution /li li10+ years of experience in ML research or engineering, including 4 to 5 years in a senior technical leadership role /li liA demonstrated track record of building and scaling high‑performance ML teams /li liDeep expertise in at least two of: model compression and efficient inference, large‑scale training, vision‑language models, data‑centric AI /li liExperience taking models from concept through to deployed, customer‑facing systems /li liA strong publication record or equivalent research leadership at top‑tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or CVPR /li liProven ability to influence executive stakeholders, customers, and the broader AI community /li /ul h3Preferred skills /h3 ul liExperience at the intersection of hardware and machine learning, particularly on‑device intelligence or AI accelerator ecosystems /li liPrior startup or founding experience, with comfort operating in ambiguity /li liFamiliarity with edge AI deployment constraints: latency, memory footprint, and power budgets /li liExperience building developer platforms or ML toolchains used externally /li /ul h3Location /h3 pBased in Zürich, Switzerland, with flexibility to engage with offices across Europe.
